When researching some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world you can identify many similarities in their daily rituals. This article was created to help you do the daily rituals to help you to create the billionaire mindset.
This list of 10 steps below is a condensed list of research on some of the top entrepreneurs in the world, including Richard Branson, Ray Dalio, and Mark Cuban. For specific business techniques on creating a billion dollar company, go here.
1. People that get ahead do not waste time in idle.
Learn to batch process tasks so you are killing two birds with one stone, so to speak. For example, while working out at the gym, be sure to use that time to listen to an audio recording to learn new stuff. You can do the same thing during your commute. I would also have lunch with colleagues so you can brainstorm, mastermind, solve problems, and eat all at the same time.
2. Learn something new each day.
This is a HUGE one in my book. Learning does not stop when you are finished with school. On the contrary, this is where it starts. You will rarely meet a top level CEO that doesn’t spend a little time each day learning. Learning something new as it pertains to your work gives you the edge, so be sure to do this first thing in the morning. Pick up that book, listen to those audio tapes, and stop making excuses that you don’t have the time. Just do it and watch how fast you grow.
3. Ask questions to learn from others.
Successful people learn from other successful people. Be inquisitive and keep your mouth closed when you are sitting with an expert or someone that is willing to help you out. Most people spend so much time talking instead of listening. You’d be surprised how hard this can be for some folks. Being quiet and asking others questions takes discipline and patience but can really pay off.
4. Emulate successful role models and get a mentor.
Find a role model that has done what you want to do and learn from them. A good way to do this is follow them on Twitter, read their books (if available), do online research, or watch their videos on YouTube. The key is to understand what their daily rituals are and emulate them as it pertains to your business.
5. Ask yourself, “Am I doing things that I am best qualified to do?”
This requires you to put your ego aside and spend some time in introspection. Although it is possible to be somewhat effective wherever you place your attention, it limits your reach and really does not allow you to grow and scale at a fast pace. Hire people that are better at things that you just don’t enjoy doing yourself.
For example, doing your taxes. I guess it’s possible to purchase a copy of Quickbooks and figure out the program to file your own taxes. Sounds like a great idea initially but come tax time and you are busy doing other things, it just makes more sense to hire an accountant that gets tax law and specializes in this area to take it off your plate.
6. Resist the impulse to speak negative of anyone.
This one is hard to do but can really pay dividends and help you to create a positive mindset. This type of negative energy can be draining and attract more negative energy. Resist the urge to read stories that produce this type of gossip, news that spins the truth, and water cooler conversations that may impact you in a negative manner.
So make an effort to walk away or change the conversation if you hear others talking bad about another person. This will help train others that you aren’t interested in participating.
7. What are your “Whys”?
Figure out what is driving you and why you must become a billionaire. Is it to help the homeless? Would you like to create a school to help underprivileged children? Would you like to buy a collection of sports cars? Would you like to travel the world and bring your whole family with you?
Fill your “inspiration cup” with why you must achieve your goals. This will help drive you to become the best and get you to do things that you normally wouldn’t do if you had not had a reason why. Don’t overlook this advice. I promise you that there is a reason “why” billionaires have succeeded. Find your reason “why” and make it happen.
8. Always deliver more than promised.
Under promising and over delivering is key to any successful business relationship. Refrain from overhyping your service. Instead listen to the needs of the other person and give them confidence that you can deliver and then come through. Over delivering can take place in several forms.
For example:
Tony Hsieh of Zappos would offer his shoppers upgraded shipping, make that customer a V.I.P., or send a surprise WOW package of cookies or flowers to brighten a customer’s day. He did all of this without the customer ever expecting it. This is over delivering.
9. Focus on a fast turnaround.
Fast turnarounds above the industry standard puts you in a different light in your customers eyes.
10. Keep your customer in the loop every step of the way.
This will go really far with your customer. Send them emails to create “touch points” during your tenure together. Keep it simple. The more you inundate them with updates, the more often you solidify the bond between the both of you.
This is particularly important at the beginning of your business relationship with them. The follow-up doesn’t stop there, in fact this is where it begins.
Rinse and Repeat
Becoming a billionaire starts with creating daily habits and rituals of the greats. The decision to become a billionaire is yours. It is a choice you make, and it will only happen if you are committed to creating something great and scalable and you think big! So go out there and commit to working twice as hard as your competitors, do the daily rituals listed above, and watch your life and income skyrocket!
Good luck and I would love to hear your feedback below.
