Over the last 6 months, Instagram has been testing out video advertisements and get ready, because these video advertisements will begin today for Disney, Activision, Lancome, Banana Republic and CW. The 15-second advertisements might annoy Instagram’s users, but it helps Instagram keep up and compete with other social media sites such as Tumblr, Snapchat and Vine. Directors were unsure if they should move forward with Instagram video advertisements, but overall believe it will have a positive effect. Although this is unfortunate for social media users, mobile advertising is important for companies in our society and it seems like it will eventually become the norm.
