Picking the right jacket to keep you warm all through the winter, while keeping it stylish can be a challenge. Should I go for a parka, or will a peacoat do the job?
When it comes to choosing the perfect item you want to cover yourself up with, there are certain rules to follow before you commit yourself to your winter purchase. First of all, pick something that can be used over the years, try to go for muted colours and basic prints (you know you aren’t going to wear a bright orange coat for the next 3 winters ahead). Don’t look at the price tag, as something cheap will probably only last a season, so spend a little more for a coat that will endure the elements. And last, but not least, is your coat versatile? (will that go with the suit, while looking great with a pair of jeans and knitwear?) If the answer is yes, then you picked the right one.
As a jacket connoisseur, my wardrobe is full of any imaginable style of coats; today we will find out what is in trend for this winter and help you decide the winner.
THE SHEARLING LEATHER:
A leather jacket is a statement piece, it can give you the bad boy look instantly and can be worn with virtually anything, but unfortunately it’s not exactly element resistant and won’t keep you warm. So, the alternative is having shearling on the inside of the jacket and on the collar, this will add an extra layer that adds style and warmth.

THE PARKA:
If you are looking to fend off the extreme conditions of a possible new ice age, or just happen to live in places where the temperature drops incredibly, the Parka is the best solution for this problem. Available in different styles and colours, this particular jacket can be found with synthetic fur around the hood, or (for the ones who want to break the bank) can go for the coyote-trimmed version

THE PEACOAT:
Peacoat jackets are extremely stylish: first worn by sailors, and then seen on guys in the most stylish capitals of the world, the peacoat is the most versatile type of outerwear. It can be styled with a whole three piece suit, or can be easily dressed down with a turtle neck knit-jumper and chinos. The peacoat should be in navy, but tartan checks, black and grey are great alternatives to the classic.
