In an app filled world, the variety of options is endless AND overwhelming… So, check out our Editor’s (Rosio) top apps she loves!
1. Waze
Waze is a social GPS with maps and traffic detection that connects you with other drivers on the road.
This driving app is my GPS go-to. It seems to be popular and it has gotten me to the places that I need to get to a lot quicker than I anticipated. For example, it got me from Beverly Hills to Culver City in 18 minutes when I expected it to take approximately 35 minutes. Recently it has been kind of hit or miss , but the only thing I’d complain about is that it has you make left turns at dangerous crossroads.
2. Instacart
Instacart is a grocery delivery service that brings you your groceries within 1 hour, from multiple locations.
This grocery shopping app is just so easy if I know I’m going to spend about $30 and I’d rather not go to the store myself. The app allows me to save my favorite products, which I love because if I toggle between each store it will pull up my favorite products at the top so that I can price compare and add things to my cart really quick. My only complaint would be that a few times the people forgot to give me my products and it’s annoying to have to deal with that afterwards (yes, this is human error versus app error). Instacart is still pretty good at resolving the issue, always refunding me without any questions. Check out our review of the app here!
3. Uber
Uber is a transportation service that utilizes local drivers for push-of-a-button quick pick-ups, at prices that are typically cheaper than taxis.
I’m just straight addicted to this drive share service. It’s too easy for me to request a car and it’s here to pick me up in no time. There’s no need for driving – I often use it when I go out with friends. We would much rather pay a “chauffeur” $12 roundtrip to go out to eat and have a glass of wine than pay $10 for parking, no wine and having to drive ourselves home. Could you imagine not having to drive in Las Vegas with rides cheaper than a taxi (read about it here)! Uber has even delved into grocery delivery (more info here).
4. Equinox
The Equinox app is meant to provide services and information for it’s gym members.
If you have an Equinox gym membership, you should download the app! It has totally gotten better over time. I usually use it to look for classes, and I can choose my favorite clubs to only look at classes at those locations. You can filter your search even further with categories and favorite instructors to see those specific classes/instructors at all locations. The app will also recognize your classes and suggest your next class (it’s called “Make Me” and it will only show show classes for today at your favorite clubs). The app allows you to log your activity done independently, shows your workout calendar, and you can export your class schedule into your own calendar. One of the coolest features that I think it has is that you can use it to pay for things at the gym with EQ Pay!
5. Screenshots
Screenshot is an app that stores all of your screenshots separate from your images.
This app saves all of your screenshots in one place, separate from images on your phone. I use it for work mostly because I constantly screenshot a lot of stuff. You don’t have to sift through your photo stream to find your screenshots and you can organize them in folders.
6. Instagram
Instagram is a visual social network.
Because it’s IG… I use it more professionally than personally, but this app rocks!
7. Dropbox
Dropbox is an online storage system for all types of files.
This app allows me to bring my life/work with me everywhere. It is an absolute lifesaver for work! You can view and edit documents from any device that this app is downloaded onto.
8. Bank of America
The Bank of America app is meant for its customers to have instant access to their account information.
If you don’t have your bank app downloaded, do it now. I’m constantly transferring money to and from different accounts and this app makes it convenient. It’s easy for transfers, payments, and checking if payments have gone through.
