For most people nowadays, life seems to be so tasking with everything looking like it is happening all at once. For a college student like me, extra curricular activities and personal time between classes can be a struggle to get done. It especially sucks even more when you have just gone shopping for the season and all of a sudden, due to wearing all the clothes in your closet, dressing up feels more difficult and tasking because you feel like you’re wearing the same thing over and over again. Most of the time we do not even get a breather to analyze or think about it due to the pressures of time and the amount of our workload from every angle. With that being said, because of that lack of time to be creative, we become comfortable and bored with everything.

Ways to avoid getting bored with clothes include experimenting. In a world where fashion and trends are constantly changing, it is easy for people to be dissatisfied with what they already have. I mean, it makes sense since the fashion industry is a superficial place. Looking to magazines and platforms like Tumblr and Instagram result in us wanting to copy the same outfits, which can be a good thing and a bad thing. Good because we get the chance to try something different and bad because sometimes we buy everything and end up using only a few pieces. I encourage you to try and make the most out of everything in your wardrobe, whether it’s through color or accessories. Sometimes we do not try because certain things seem to be a taboo but trying to make something work by testing the waters is better than not trying at all. The worst that could happen is that it doesn’t work. Who knows? You might be the pioneer of a new trend. When experimenting with your wardrobe, staying away from your comfort clothes play a huge role. Comfort clothes are clothes that are worn when there is lack of creativity and vision. There is nothing wrong with it because it always comes in handy on some occasions. It is no doubt everyone loves a good signature uniform, but in the case of experimenting, there is always a chance you will be able to find another uniform. Do not let the fact that you want to stick to a personal style hinder you from trying new things.
If you are looking to experiment with your wardrobe, there are a lot of things you can do to turn things up. For example, you can look out for clothing with cool prints and patterns, and certain accessories like neckties, glasses, scarves, and such. These days, more people are taking risks by not even following the rules of dressing up a detailed pattern piece. People are mixing separate patterns in one outfit and they’re making it work. For most men, mixing prints and patterns can be quite difficult and tasking because of the fear of getting too much attention, but you never know how something is going to look on you until you try it. The key to executing a personal style experiment is confidence and enthusiasm, even with the smallest details. It could be a pair of socks, a wristwatch, or even a T-shirt. The key point of experimenting is to really test your creativity. If you’re passionate about clothes, fashion & style, this should be an exciting challenge for you.
