I don’t wear too many accessories besides earrings unless they have a fun or techy edge. With a lack of options, I’ve been experimenting by putting LED lights onto bracelets, hats, necklaces, and barrettes! Inspired after seeing countless LED-inspired outfits pop up on the runway from brands like Cute Circuit, and observing the new light-inspired outfits that grace the stages of CES, I’ve been on the lookout for more everyday pieces.
With a little bit of a trickle down effect from last year’s runway, I’ve found a few noteworthy items, not all of which are associated with activity trackers or anything too serious – some are created just for the fashionable take to jazz up an outfit.
Here are a few things I’ve spied recently:
- A Marc-by-Marc Jacobs bag with flashing LED closure – it comes in pink and blue.
- Snap bracelet and shoe clip from Nite Ize’s with easy to activate LED lights.
- Sporty hats with LED lights
- Gloves that keep your hands warm during the winter and offer a bit of fun flare
- New watch designs using LED patterns from Marc Jacobs
Light is such a beautiful part of our day-to-day, I think that small, subtle statement pieces using the shine from an LED makes accessories not only more fun and unique, but also a little adds a little more assurance that we’ll never be left in the dark. 😉
