It has been long time since trend reports first alarmed about white sneakers. Since then we have seen so many ‘‘must have’’ pages recommending different models and brands.
In my opinion, there have not been many other trendy pieces that have been unisex for the last few years. No matter how young or mature, both men and women can wear the same models with their different outfits and colors. Blogger Andree Hadjimitsi is one of the young ladies who have inspiring looks with white sneakers for both man and woman. There’s much to learn from her and the way she uses the colors. Photographer and style illustrator Louis Nicolas Darbon is another inspiring gentleman who knows how to use these pieces both with suits and casual outfits.

There are reasons for the white sneaker’s popularity, simplicity being the main one. They look basic and this makes them strong enough to attract attention. They are comfortable and the white, simple look adds elegance to this comfort. This is why we can see the same pairs under a suit, a dress, denim, shorts, or tights.
I also think they are one of the most democratic pieces ever. Just think about the diversity of people you have seen, both on the streets and in magazines, wearing a pair of Stan Smith’s or Air Force One’s.
Personally, I am one of them who has worn both leather and textile white sneakers all summer long. Now the warm sunny days are gone, and maybe the white color and the winter may sound far from each other but I am not willing to leave my sneakers in the closet on these cold rainy days. I know I am not the only one. Maybe we will put our textile pairs in their boxes and grab our leather ones that are still fresh for winter looks. If you still have doubts about white and winter I would recommend the article ‘Whites? For Fall? Noteworthy’ written by our friend Igee Okafor.
Here are some alternative ways to wear white sneakers:
You may prefer high tops or low tops. I believe low tops with short, cropped slim pants look more elegant. Plus you may have a chance to play up your socks. Both colorful and dark colors look cool with white sneakers.
A camel coat worn with a grey sweater or any other grey piece on you and a light blue denim is one of the perfect looks for white sneakers, in my opinion. Dark blue denim or chinos with a grey or black coat is another alternative to rock leather white sneakers. You’re not only tied to denims and chinos, you can wear tweed pants with your sneakers as well. From grey to dark green shades it is possible to use them together.
